Beautiful Thru Tuesday, Rain and Thunderstorm Chances Return Mid to Late Week

Monday and Tuesday: Warm and Sunny

Great weather continues!

Monday: sunshine with a high of 81°. A nice south/southeast breeze of 5 to 10 MPH winds.

Tuesday looks similar with a high of 81°. We could see a few more clouds, but it should still be mostly sunny. Winds will still hang around 5-10 MPH.

Wednesday and Thursday/NFL Draft: Rain Chances Return

It looks like our chance for rain returns mid week. Here is what NWS-Nashville says right now:

“Went with 20 to 30 POPs [Probability of Precipitation] on Wednesday as the upper low evolves over TX…but the highest rain chances for the week should be Thursday and Thursday night as the center of the storm passes to our south. Although we should see a few thunderstorms from this system, instabilities appear very modest at this time so severe storms are not expected. Models are in better agreement today with respect to the timing of this system…and it looks like it should move east of the midstate by early Friday.”

A chance for rain on Wednesday exists, although probabilities are on the lower end at 20-30%. Besides the chance for rain, Wednesday will be partly sunny with high temperatures around 80°.

Thursday has the greater possibility of rain.

We could also see some thunderstorms, but as of right now, we don’t expect anything severe, but this is not the forecast we want for the first night of the NFL Draft. Rain may also carry into the overnight hours. There are no precise ETAs because models that run to Thursday night have low spatial and temporal resolution. However, the Euro model shows the low pressure center –  responsible for the rain – located south of us, which calms strong/severe storm concerns.

(Editor’s Note: 4 days ago models showed high pressure and sunshine for the NFL Draft. Now, totally opposite. This is why your 10 day crap app forecast is called a crap app).

Friday and Saturday: Rain Clears, Cooler Temperatures?

As of right now, it looks like the rain should move out of the area early on Friday. That departure time may vary as models continue to discern the forecast. We could potentially see slightly cooler temperatures due to a weak passing cold front.

Marathon first guess start temp 54°, mostly sunny, few clouds, noon temp 75°, afternoon high 77°.

Enjoy the wonderful spring weather today and during the beginning of the week!

Keep checking back for updates in the days ahead, especially since the potential for rain is still a few days out!
