Rain Over, Drier Sunday, HOT This Week

Flash Flood Watch Cancelled

Our Flash Flood Watch was originally set to expire at 7 PM. After lunch, the rain moved out, and the Watch was cancelled. We may see a few very light showers tonight as the cold front comes through, but that should not discourage your outdoor plans.

Overnight fog should be the only weather  shenanigan.

Drying Out, Heating Up This Week

Sunday looks to be the pick day of this weekend, especially before things get too hot this week.

Afternoon temperatures will gradually climb into the middle 90s by Wednesday and continue into next weekend. Heat Index values, with the addition of mid-70s dew points, will soar into the triple digits to near 105ºF! Rough.

When Will Relief From the Heat Return?

Rain chances that are worthy of talking about don’t really return until next weekend when another frontal boundary approaches the area on Sunday and stalls out across the Tennessee/Ohio Valleys. Until then, you’ll have to use more reliable methods like A/C or a tall glass of lemonade to cool off.
